Detailed comparison
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro-Design
OnePlus 7 Pro is designed to impress with its metal frame and glass back. The display on the front is kept uninterrupted by any notch and the front camera uses the popup mechanism. On the rear side, the triple camera setup is centralized in the horizontal format. This OnePlus device is available in three colours. They are mirror grey, nebula blue and almond.
The Huawei P30 Pro also flaunts a metal frame with glass rear panel. The display has curved edges giving it a premium look with a waterdrop notch at the top housing the front camera. On the top left side of the back panel, there is a quad camera setup.
Among other design features, OnePlus 7 is splash proof but with no IP rating whereas P30 Pro is IP68 water and dust resistant. Both the phones feature USB Type-C port for charging and no 3.5mm headphone jack.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro-Display
The display is the forte for OnePlus 7 Pro which flaunts a 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display from Samsung with a Quad HD+ resolution. We are really impressed with how truly bezel-free OnePlus is able to make this Smartphone. With no notch, you will enjoy the seamless, smooth and bright display, all thanks to the pop-up front camera. For a smoother experience, OnePlus 7 Pro uses a 90Hz refresh rate which means you will experience more fluid and smoother animation than the 60Hz displays like Huawei P30 Pro has.
Huawei P30 Pro features a 6.47-inch AMOLED display which is Full HD+ not as sharper and vibrant as the OnePlus 7 Pro even when it is priced higher. Also, there is a small notch at the top of the display that houses the front camera.
But don’t make a decision yet. There are more features to check out.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro-Camera
OnePlus 7 Pro has the triple camera setup featuring a 48MP main sensor further improved by a 16MP ultra-wide sensor and a 3x 8MP telephoto sensor. On the front, you get a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
Huawei P30 Pro leads the competition by a huge margin in this category with its Leica quad camera. The quad camera setup features a 40MP wide-angle lens alongside a 20MP ultra wide angle lens, an 8MP telephoto lens and topped with a Time of Flight sensor. On the front, you have a 32MP, f/2.0 selfie camera.
You will better understand the camera quality difference looking at images taken from the devices. Here are some pictures are taken from these smartphones:

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro-Hardware
The OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. It comes with 3 RAM configurations-6GB, 8GB and 12GB with an option of 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. There is no support for microSD memory expansion in any variant.
The Huawei P30 Pro features a powerful Kirin 980 chipset inside which is comparatively less efficient than OnePlus 7 Pro’s processor. For RAM you only an 8GB option but can choose between 128GB or 512GB ROM.
For power, OnePlus 7 Pro depends on a 4000aAh battery while Huawei P30 Pro is powered by a 4200aAh cell. But the difference in the battery is not more juice but also how bad OnePlus 7 Pro is at conserving the battery life. The brilliant, bright and huge display on the device sucks battery life out of it and the only resort is to optimize the refresh rate and resolution to have better battery backup.
Furthermore, OnePlus 7 Plus does not support wireless charging and depends on its 30W Warp Charger while P30 Pro supports Huawei’s 40W SuperCharge and wireless charging as well.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro-Software
Both the Smartphones used their own UI over the Android Pie to give their users a better experience. However, we found OnePlus 7 Pro’s OxygenOS 9.5 cleaner and more intuitive than the Huawei P30 Pro’s EMUI skin.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro-Price and Availability
Amazon India is the exclusive online seller of both OnePlus 7 Pro and Huawei P30 Pro Smartphones in India. You can get your hands on the latest OnePlus device starting at Rs. 48,999 for the 6GB/128GB model while for 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB you have to pay Rs. 52,999 and Rs. 57, 999 respectively.
As of writing this comparison review, only one variant of Huawei P30 Pro is available on Amazon which is 8GB/256GB priced at Rs. 71,999.
Which one will you pick?
OnePlus 7 Pro has a lot to offer- a larger and vivid display as no other Smartphone has on the market alongside a powerful Qualcomm processor and intuitive cleaner UI. While Huawei P30 Pro has an unmatched camera, larger battery and support for wireless charging and memory expansion.
Average battery life and camera performance is a concern for OnePlus 7 Pro fans while Huawei P30 Pro is priced almost 20k more than its competitor.
